The City of Peoria Water Services Department has an excellent
opportunity for a Utility Supervisor in the Water Production
Division. The purpose of this position is to supervise utilities
field operations activities. The position will schedule and assign
tasks to skilled, semi-skilled, and entry-level employees engaged
in the maintenance, installation, and repair of the Water
Production System.
The position will perform and resolve complex technical problems,
maintain records and reports, and recommend improvements new
technologies and work methods. Other duties include performing
employee semi-annual and annual performance reviews, administering
and managing the division's annual Operating and Capital Budget,
reviewing and approving all expenditures and invoices, and
providing monthly budget variance reports.
The Utility Supervisor will also review employee time and
attendance for accuracy and accountability for payroll submissions,
as well as work with labor relations, Union Leaders, other
divisions and departments, and the public as internal and external
customers.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience in a municipal of government setting.
Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
Knowledge of groundwater wells, chlorination equipment, booster and
pressure regulating stations

Lead and provide mentorship and a learning environment to develop
staff for efficiency and success. Plan, organize, manage, and
effectively supervise, train, and fairly evaluate employees'
performance on varied levels.
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Operate a personal computer and work-related software applications,
preparing concise, well-conceived oral and written reports.
Review plans, specifications and reports for new construction,
repair, and rehabilitation projects for proper design and
operation.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all
employees' external contacts and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Two-year Associate degree or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of five years related experience. Requires
broad knowledge of complex systems and procedures.
Licenses/Certifications/Special Requirements: Arizona Department of
Environmental Quality Grade 4 - Water Distribution and Arizona
Department of Environmental Quality Grade 4 - Wastewater
Collection.
Valid AZ Driver's License upon hire.
