Job Description:
Full Time Shift: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, e/o Wednesday-12 hour
shifts 7am-7:30pm. Must be able to drive-fleet driver. Pay Range:
$19.00-$22.00 per hour depending on experience. Summary of Job: The
Direct Support Specialist (DSS) will work on a one-to-one basis
with an individual providing hope, encouragement, support, and
connection to the community. The DSS will be responsible for
providing a safe and supportive environment in the individual's
residential home by providing companionship, socialization, and
emotional support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise
daily living routines in the home De-escalate individual according
to an individualized behavioral plan Assist individual with meal
preparation Simple Housework (sweeping, vacuuming, washing dishes)
Transport as needed for activities (company vehicle provided)
Interact with the individual in a Recovery model, assisting with
activities and providing a safe environment Schedule: 12-hour shift
Day Shift Night Shift Weekend availability Job Requirements: A High
School diploma or equivalent is required: experience in residential
facilities and/or behavioral health working with DDD or Autism
Spectrum Disorder is preferred. Must have a valid driver's license
and safe driving record. To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of
the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure,
experience, and/or ability required. Basic computer skills.

per regulatory guidelines. *Effective communication skills with an
individual with disabilities Driving Requirements: *Must meet all
requirements outlined in RI International driving policy. Physical
Demands : May include work close to the eyes and substantial
motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers. Frequent sitting,
standing, walking, handling, finger dexterity; eye-hand-foot
coordination, use of corrected vision; color vision; use of
auditory senses. May be required to lift up to twenty (20) pounds.
