Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for an Associate Mechanical Engineer to be part of our Integration (Build) and Test team in Launch Vehicles at our Chandler, AZ facility.Job ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will serve as an Integration and Test Associate Mechanical Engineer for the Sentinel Program (and/or on another program, as needed), requiring the candidate to function in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment. Daily responsibilities may require direct contact with sensitive launch vehicle flight hardware and ground support equipment. The candidate may be expected to help develop, plan and/or perform integration and testing activities associated with the assembly of flight hardware, testing of assembled systems and components, or execution/support of live fire tests (static and/or flight) at various facilities or launch ranges. Specific duties may include:Hands-on integration or testingDeveloping/maintaining proceduresIncorporating hardware/tooling design changesDeveloping/planning/coordinating integration activitiesCoordinating with suppliers and procurement officeCreating digital/physical mockups and toolsComplying with strict aerospace standardsSupporting live fire static testing and flight test eventsBasic QualificationsMinimum Education / Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering is required.Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Passport for travelCandidate must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret level security clearance; US Citizenship is usually a pre-requisiteStrong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to large customer communityHands-on mechanical aptitudeAbility to solve problems, support troubleshooting efforts, drive tasks to completionAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-taskAbility to work in a team environment, and lead small projects or teamsAbility to travel: Travel expectation 25%Preferred QualificationsExperience performing formal requirements decomposition and/or verificationElectrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Systems Engineering backgroundExperience with aerospace standards/guidelinesExperience with external customer interfacing including meetings, presentations & negotiationsExperience working with operational hazards such as propulsive devices, pressurized systems, overhead lifting, and high voltage systemsKnowledge and experience with CAD software and GD& THands-on mechanical aptitude and experienceSalary Range: $53,500 USD $80,300 USDEmployees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
