the Culture of PeoriaWhat's the Job?A Community Parks Night/Weekend
Lead performs routine park maintenance and provides direct customer
service to internal and external customers and the public in a park
setting. Provides functional supervision of part-time recreation or
maintenance staff to ensure park cleanliness and safety standards
are met and facilities are available as scheduled. Acts as a
liaison to event promoters, team representatives and other city
staff in the absence of a Coordinator, Crew Leader or other
full-time recreation or maintenance staff.Specific accountabilities
may include but are not limited to the following: Ensures reserved
facilities are available as scheduled in a safe, clean condition.
Checks and posts Ramada and sports court/field rental sheets.
Performs field preparation of baseball and other sports fields.
Performs janitorial related janitorial duties that includes but is
not limited to cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, picking up litter
and emptying trash receptacles. Opens sports facility gates and
turns on/off sports facility lighting as required for sports field
rentals. Closes park facilities nightly to include main gates,
restrooms, parking lots and other park amenities. Reports unlawful
acts and/or dangerous activities to the Police Department.
Exercises the necessary supervision of personnel to meet park
cleanliness and safety standards and the needs of an activity,
event, or program with minimal direction. Communicate incidents,
decisions to Parks Maintenance Coordinator or Crew Leader.
Responsible for the completion and filing of accident, incident and
statistical reports. Some positions will require the performance of
additional position accountabilities. Maintains close communication
with Park Rangers, Adult / Youth Sports staff, event promoters, and

clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing any incidents,
decisions and issues pertaining to activity, event or program to
assigned supervisor. Experience, education and/or training that
would provide the required knowledge and abilities to meet the
needs of the program MAY BE REQUIRED in some areas.ADDITIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:Physical Requirements: Exerting up to 50 - 100 pounds
of force occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 - 20
pounds constantly in the performance of job duties.Work
Environment: Position is subject to environmental conditions.
Activities occur inside and outside. Position is subject to noise,
and/or vibration.License or Certificate: The following may be
required for specific positions; possession of CPR and First Aid
cards, two personal references and two professional references.
