Summary The Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN-ICU) provides
specialized nursing care to critically ill or unstable patients
requiring intensive monitoring and advanced medical interventions.
The RN works collaboratively with physicians and multidisciplinary
teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while
ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Provide
direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting.
Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs,
neurological status, and cardiac rhythms. Administer medications,
IV therapies, and specialized treatments as prescribed. Operate and
monitor advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, cardiac
monitors, and infusion pumps. Recognize and respond promptly to
changes in patient condition or emergencies. Assist with
life-saving procedures and resuscitation efforts when necessary.
Develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Document
patient care and clinical findings accurately in the electronic
health record (EHR). Educate and support patients and their
families regarding treatment plans and care needs. Collaborate with
physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare
professionals. Maintain infection control and patient safety
standards. Participate in continuing education and quality
improvement initiatives. Qualifications Education: Associate Degree
in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
preferred. Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN)
license in United States Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred .
Experience: Previous ICU or critical care experience required. To
