Job Description Job Description Summary: Under the supervision
of a licensed physician, Physician Assistants and Nurse
Practitioners provide healthcare services to patients in clinic and
via tele-medicine according to the established principles of the
clinical practice. APPs act as a medical consultant/advisor
regarding the medical status of the clients presenting for physical
examinations. Organizational Duties and Responsibilities: Supports
the values, mission, and vision of MBI Industrial Medicine, Inc.,
as evidenced by compliance with all organizational policies and
procedures. Supports the facilities positive interaction with
others as evidenced by professional maturity, respect for others, a
team centered approach, maintenance of confidential information,
and appreciation of a variety of viewpoints and diversity in the
workplace. Exhibits effective communication skills, including
proper use of corporate communication systems and chain of command.
Supports the strategic plan of MBI Industrial Medicine, Inc., as
evidenced by a working knowledge of the organization’s goals,
mission, and values, implementing them in daily practice.
Participates in strategic planning activities as requested by the
Center or State medical leader. Works in partnership with the
Clinic Administrator and Center Medical Director to promote the
best patient outcomes, work processes, and staff engagement. Job
Functions: Provides healthcare to patients both in clinic and via
tele-medicine according to the established principles of clinical
practice and the current organizational plan or need. Consults
Center medical director or on-site staff physician for
recommendations on clinical management and treatment plans when
needed. Perform complete history and physical exams for the purpose
of determining capacity to safely perform specified job functions.
Provide medical opinion regarding job accommodations if needed to
safely perform specified job functions. Participate in the legal
process of workers’ compensation, including Samm’s calls,
depositions, and testifying in hearings when requested. Evaluate
and manage the following conditions: Common occupational
musculoskeletal injuries of the neck, back, and upper and lower
extremities. Work-related injuries to the head with or without loss
of consciousness, assuming the individual is currently conscious
and alert. Work-related injuries to the chest or abdomen, with the
possibility of hernias. Work-related lacerations of the face,
scalp, and extremities. Work-related eye injuries, including
foreign bodies to the eye, non-penetrating eye injuries, and
chemical exposures. Work-related rashes and other occupational skin
conditions. Occupational asthma and other work-related respiratory
symptoms. Treatment of non-displaced uncomplicated fractures,
including interpreting radiographs, splinting, and orthopedic
referral when appropriate. Evaluation and management to include:
Perform complete and accurate history and physical, including
detailed documentation of current work-related complaint, mechanism
of injury, activity and occupational limitations, leading to
accurate diagnosis and medically appropriate management of the
patient. Being aware of OSHA recordability and rendering medically
appropriate care, while being aware and sensitive to treatment
which makes an injury recordable to the employer. Prescription of
appropriate medications and therapy. Ordering and interpretation of
radiographs. Referral for specialized testing such as MRI, EMG as
necessary and appropriate. Referral for specialty care as
appropriate. Identification of appropriate limitations to activity
at home and work. Rendering an opinion regarding causality and work
relatedness. Communication with employers at the completion of the
first visit to review the treatment plan and work capacity of the
patient, and at times through the case as requested from the
employer or when deemed necessary by the treating provider.
Certifications/Skills Requirements: Master’s degree and/or
appropriate licensure to work as a N.P. or P.A. FMCSA certified for
DOT exams (to gain certification within 90 days of hire) Active
full DEA license. Current BLS certificate. Skills in exercising a
high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and
decision-making to achieve organizational objectives in a rapidly
changing business environment. Outstanding communication and
interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and
effectively both verbally and in writing. Proficient computer
skills. Ability to document efficiently in the electronic health
record. Customer service oriented; strong organizational skills and
ability to develop relationships with staff, patients, and clients.
Must maintain confidentiality. Arizona Unrestricted Arizona
