Contract Length: 13 weeks Start Date: 02/23/2026 Job Description:
The Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit
(CVICU) will be responsible for providing intensive nursing care to
patients recovering from cardiac and thoracic surgeries. The role
requires competence in maintaining sterile fields and performing
key procedures such as Foley catheter insertions and central line
dressing changes. Responsibilities: Provide high-acuity care to
patients recovering from cardiac surgeries, including Empallas,
IABP, CRRT, and more. Perform bedside procedures and maintain
sterile field protocols. Float to other ICUs and Tele units as
required, maintaining a patient ratio of 4:1 on Tele units.
Participate in lifts, restraints, and wound care training during
orientation. Requirements: Must have experience in a Level I Trauma
Center and pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance.
Certifications: ACLS and BLS are required; CCRN is preferred.
Strong IV skills and proficiency in Cerner EMR system. Must pass
Day 1 SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line
