We are seeking a patient-centric, academic physician to join our 16
resident physicians as the program medical director (50% Clinical,
50% Directorship). This position is open to all subspecialties for
physicians also boarded in Internal Medicine. You will be
responsible for leading the development and implementation of the
residency curriculum, overseeing resident training and evaluation,
and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. Your role
will involve fostering a supportive learning environment, driving
program improvements, and collaborating with medical staff and
community partners. Our Residency Program: Our three-year Internal
Medicine Residency program, the result of a partnership between
Verde Valley Medical Center and Midwestern University, is
accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical
Education (ACGME). Our program began in 2010 with four residents.
We expanded to 12 residents (four per year) in 2013, are currently
at 16 residents and will be at 18 residents (six per year) by 2027.
The small size of the program, the camaraderie of the residents and
the one-on-one time with supervising physicians make this a very
attractive option to many candidates. VVMC offers exposure to a
wide variety of patient populations and pathologies. Our weekly
continuity clinics, electives and opportunities to perform research
prepare residents to embark on successful, diverse career paths.
Above all, our focus is to give each resident an excellent,
in-depth educational experience. Our residents have a 100 percent
pass rate on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical
Education (ACGME) and the American Osteopathic Board of Internal
Medicine (AOBIM) Board certification examinations. This is an

hospital medical staff appointment. - Certified in Internal
Medicine by the by the appropriate American Board of Medical
Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA),
with qualifications acceptable to the Review Committee (RC). -
Previous leadership experience in Graduate Medical Education (GME)
- Demonstrate at least three years of documented educational and/or
administrative experience in the specialty or qualification
acceptable to the ACGME Review Committee (RC) - Demonstrate ongoing
clinical activity. - Devote adequate administrative time to the
program as required by the RC. - Engage in clinical activity
