The PACU at Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital recovers a variety of
patients from our cath lab, EP lab, operating room. Common
procedures that come to PACU include ablations, pacemaker
insertion, heart catheterizations, Watchman, Amulet, AAA repair,
and a wide variety of other vascular surgeries and heart
procedures. There is a weekend call requirement and nurse to
patient ratios are 1:2. Our patients tend to be more critical than
your typical recovery patients as we are a specialty heart
hospital, so critical care experience a must for this area.
RN PACU Full Time Days Position Summary
Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit.
Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. Position renders
individualized, age specific and direct bedside nursing care based
on the nursing process and patient needs. Acts as a supervisor by
assessing, planning, delegating, and utilizing independent
judgement in directing other healthcare employees for the provision
of patient care. Systematically evaluates the quality and
effectiveness of nursing practice to identify patient goals.
Participates in hourly rounding. Observes safety guidelines and
safe work practices. May at times be asked to be in charge for a
shift(s). Supervises other members of the healthcare team.
Special Skills: Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work
with team members required. Must be able to work in a fast-paced
environment with occasional periods of above average pressure.
Excellent customer service skills. Must have basic computer skills.
Strongly preferred expr in CVICU or ICU or Min 2 years in Cardiac
THE RN PACU FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING
EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Nursing Degree from an accredited nursing
PREFERRED EDUCATION: BSN
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: One year of acute care experience;
medical/surgical floor, telemetry, ICU, ER.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Prefer preoperative/procedural experience in
inpatient or outpatient care setting
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: License to practice as a
Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona. CPR. ACLS required or
must obtain within six months of hire.
