Job Description:

This practical nursing role is based in a 20-bed PCU specializing in trauma surgery patients, with dedicated units for Epilepsy Monitoring and Chronic Ventilator care. Provides practical nursing within established care protocols under RN or physician supervision. Collaborates with RNs in data collection, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Supports all ages by applying growth and development knowledge and participating in the nursing process. Contributes to patient database development, interdisciplinary care plans, and patient/family education. Implements prescribed treatments, administers medications, and advocates for patients' rights and well-being. Participates in performance improvement activities and supports organizational initiatives. Supports orientation and career development of team members. Requires graduation from an accredited practical nursing program, Virginia licensure, and BLS certification; de-escalation training within four months of hire. Must complete orientation and competency assessments; no prior experience required.
